Literally just stumbled upon it while trying to see if the PeerTube app had any recent updates. View-Verse has apps on both iOS and Android. The iOS app says no data collected.
Don’t know much about it beyond that so far, but the more options we have to get away from the big corporations the better, so I figured I’d share.
YouTube is starting (already has really) to become an echo chamber catered to those with DMCA rights, and trolls pretending that they do. We need a P2P community run video platform, archive.org’s torrent platform would be a decent backend but they are also starting to kneel to certain groups too.
I should probably upload some copyrighted music videos to view-verse and check how long it takes for them to be taken down. Might take quite a while, given that no “full” video has reached 20 views and no short is past 150 views.
